Sebastian Inlet Kiteboarding

INFORMATION ON KITEBOARDING SEBASTIAN INLET

Located on State Road A1A 15 miles south of Melbourne Beach. It is a state park, with an entry FEE of $5.00. The launch area is at the South End of the Inlet, on the Beach. Amenities include pavilions and picnic areas. Full-facility campsites and a boat ramp are available.
 
PRECAUTIONS: The south side of the Inlet is commonly called “Monster Hole”. This can be an excellent wave-riding spot. The waves can get very large there. Do not bother the surfers!! This is for Intermediate to Pro-level kiters. Wave riding experience is a must.
 
WIND DIRECTIONS: There is a tide change, and is for NNW, N, NE, SE, SSE winds.
 
Sebastian is a premier saltwater fishing spot on Florida’s east coast. It is common to catch snook, redfish, bluefish, and Spanish mackerel from the jetties. Surfing is also a popular activity in this area. Several major competitions are held here every year. There are two museums if you are looking for the history of the area. The McLarty Treasure Museum tells the history of the 1715 Spanish treasure fleet and the Sebastian Fishing Museum specializes in the area’s fishing industry. Three miles of beautiful beaches provide opportunities for kiteboarding, standup paddleboarding, swimming, scuba diving, snorkeling, shelling, and sunbathing. Canoeing and kayaking in the Indian River Lagoon are also options.

Good Breeze Kiteboarding has been offering kiteboarding lessons and equipment in the Cocoa Beach area since 2007. The shallow flat water of the Banana River gives the area an incredible appeal for learning and catching any wind direction. They teach with water-craft support with IKO certified instructors.  The “surf town” vibe of Cocoa Beach is really laid back and friendly. Being central in Florida with close proximity to Orlando and Melbourne, makes the area a killer location for a kiteboarding shop and school. It is fully stocked so swing by! Located just north of the big Ron Jon Surf Shop. They also offer Hydrofoil and EFoil Lessons!
