Bald Point Kiteboarding

INFORMATION ON KITEBOARDING BALD POINT

This spot is 50 miles South of Tallahassee. It is not a bad drive from the Florida’s Capital. It is frequented by the FSU Kiteboarding Club. Wind here blows strongest at sunrise in the Fall and Spring and dies gradually through the day. Flat water at low to mid tide. Wind chop and high tide. No real swell. Good spot for short downwinders.
 
DIRECTIONS: From Tallahasse take Crawfordville Hwy (319) South to Coastal Hwy (30/98). The point is East of the Highway.
 
PRECAUTIONS: Multiple launch spots all along the beach for the advanced rider, watch for houses and power lines. Beginners should launch in the state park. Watch out for oyster beds at the northern tip.
