Porpoise Point Kiteboarding

INFORMATION ON KITEBOARDING PORPOISE POINT, SAINT AUGUSTINE

This is the St. Augustine Inlet. This inlet is dregged so it is deeper than Matanzas. Porpoise is a tidal inlet with a strong tidal current. This is one of the best places in northeast Florida to ride on westerly winds. You should do this when the tide is incoming. It is possible to ride from the point downwind to Bird Island on easterly winds with an outgoing tide. Advanced riders can ride on some flat water and check out the fort. After, you can ride all the way back upwind to the ocean for some wave riding.
